Ferrets are Born Comedians!

Ferrets make great pets! They are born comedians, and each ferret has its own unique personality. If you either have a ferret, or are thinking about adopting one, then you need to know how to make your little guy happy.

Ferrets are well known as carpet sharks, and that’s because they just love to chew. Keep on hand plenty of chew stars, and you can help avoid the carpet chewing. Chew stars come in many different flavors – and ferrets like variety, just like people do!

Ferrets also love to eat raisins. You have to be a little bit careful not to give them too many raisins, or your ferret will get a belly ache. You can safely give ferrets two or three raisins at a time – and they do love them!

Ferrets love to explore new places, and a paper bag or crinkle sack will do just fine as a new place! A paper bag provides a nice dark hole to explore, and will also make some fun noises for your ferret. You can get a crinkle sack that’s made for a cat, and that will work, as will a plain brown paper sack.

Ferret hammocks are a real favorite – all ferrets love to lounge in their hammock! Just to be sure to hang the hammock up high enough that the ferret can hang freely, and doesn’t bump up against a hard surface, like a window sill, or the edge of a litter box.

Ferrets love to steal things, so you should make sure that you put away anything that you want to keep – like your keys! You probably won’t want to leave your remotes lying around either – first, the ferret will chew off the rubber buttons, which could harm him, and then they’ll hide it! Make sure that you leave out lots of little toys for them to steal and hide, bells that are too big to swallow, and ferret sized pillows. You can also crumple up wrapping paper, which just fascinates ferrets!

Baby Ferrets – Fun Little Pets

Have you been looking for a unique and fun little pet that is just a little bit different from the usual pets you see?  If so, then you might want to consider a baby ferret.  Baby ferrets are some of the most adorable little pets I’ve ever seen.

It’s a popular misconception that ferrets are wild animals.  Actually, ferrets have been kept as pets for hundreds of years, and are loads of fun.  Never the less, you might have a problem finding a ferret to buy where you live.  Some areas still have laws that don’t recognize ferrets as domesticated pets.

If you’re a quirky person like me, then a ferret is probably one of the best pets that you could have!  Ferrets are definitely little quirky animals, and each one has its own distinctive personality.  But they do all tend to have a few things in common.

The name “ferret” is derived from Latin, and the latin word means thief.  Once you bring your pet ferret home, you’ll soon discover why ferrets were given this name.

Ferrets just love to take small items that they see laying around, and hide them someplace new.  You’ll soon be misplacing your keys, your sunglasses, pens, any small item that your new friend can “ferret” away from you!  Make sure that you keep your jewelry put away, because it will soon disappear if you don’t!

Ferrets need a lot of sleep; when they’re awake they’re extremely playful, but they sleep on average about 18 hours a day.  Unlike cats, they’re not nocturnal creatures, and will change their own sleeping patterns to match yours – they love to be with you!
